To post something new and not entirely desert this blog, here some pictures from our trip to Iran in 2016. It's a really interesting country with nice and helpful people, and offers in the north far more diversity than you would expect. From deserts over high mountains to entirely green forests, everything can be found there if you take your time and make a trip around the Alborz mountains. One of the highlight was for sure a subadult specimen of the Halys viper! Since I got my first book of the european herpetofauna as a teenager, I always wanted to see this pitviper species in real :-) A more extensive trip report with a map of our travel route you can find here.

This time's obligatory music tip: Ider!

Long time no write... there are actually some pictures in the waiting line! But before that I unfortunately need to update the CMS, which will take some time, because I'm not even sure which one to take. Joomla, Wordpress, Drupal,.. so much options. Anyhow, here are two pics as a small preview about the next two sets of pictures. To the left, Oman, to the right Iran. Two very interesting countries with a lot of amazing species!

Wow.. a year passed by since the last entry. But now... back again, with some pictures from last years trip to Istria and Cres, together with Attila and Sarah. As always, the focus has been on in-situ clicking, and lizards are your best friend for that purpose.
